In the absence of a buyer's broker, it makes sense that you would question whether it makes sense to still pay the full 6 percent, so you can try to lower that amount in the listing agreement. But there may be a risk in going too low with the fee you set.

Renting directly from an owner of a condo unit gives you better odds of a clean, sleek space with quality fixtures and appliances. On the flip side, you are right to be concerned about the owner showing the space to potential buyers while you're still living there—or worse, giving you the boot before your lease term is up.
