No-Fee Apartment of the Week: $4,800 three-bedroom in the East Village

By Lucy Cohen Blatter  | October 12, 2012 - 2:17PM

This $4,800 three-bedroom at 176 East 3rd Street looks like it was made for shares who want to take advantage of the funky neighborhood.

Pros: The elevator building, located on 3rd Street between 1st and A, is in a lively and exciting area packed with restaurants, boutiques and bars. The apartment itself has a washer/dryer. The building has storage bins and a live-in super.

Cons:  The living room/kitchen are small and one bedroom is "hidden behind sliding pocket French doors." Translation: not a real bedroom originally, so probably small too. This sits opposite an open living room with exposed brick and sleek hardwood floors throughout. Plus, the apartment seems to have been on and off the market since July, so we're wondering about a catch.
