An affordable housing lottery opens for 144 apartments in Woodside, Queens

Housing lottery applications are open for 144 newly constructed apartments at Woodside Central, 46-09 69th St. and 46-10 70th St., in Woodside, Queens. Applicants who earn $55,886 to $115,280, depending on the size of the household, are eligible. Rents start at $1,511 for a studio.

The available apartments include studios, one, and two bedrooms. 

Applicants need to be earning 80 percent of the area median income (AMI) to qualify for these apartments. AMI depends on how many people you live with. Currently the AMI for New York City is $106,800 for a two-person household.

The pet-friendly building also has bike storage lockers, a shared laundry room, a gym, dance studio, and an outdoor terrace. Additional amenity fees may apply. 

Tenants are responsible for paying electricity bills, including the electric stove, heat and hot water. 

The nearest subway station is 69th St-Fisk Avenue for the 7th train. 

The developers have set aside 50 percent of the rent-stabilized apartments for applicants who already live in the area. Another 5 percent of the apartments will be preferentially given to NYC employees. A small percentage of the apartments are also set aside for residents with mobility, vision, and hearing needs. 

Applications must be submitted online or postmarked no later than May 22nd.
