A housing lottery launches for 80 apartments in Mott Haven

Housing lottery applications are open for 80 rent-stabilized apartments at a new development in Mott Haven at Third Avenue and East 134th Street in the Bronx. New Yorkers earning from  $80,572 to $187,330 are eligible to apply, depending on the size of the household. Rents start at $2,350 for a studio.

The pet-friendly building at 2455 Third Ave. has a dog-washing station, gym, recreation room, terrace, bike storage, and electric vehicle charging stations. There are additional fees for some amenities. The apartments have dishwashers, in-unit washers and dryers, hardwood floors, and high-end energy efficient appliances. 

All the apartments are set aside for New Yorkers earning 130 percent of the AMI—a metric that depends on how many people you live with. Currently the AMI for New York City is $106,800 for a two-person household. The apartments available include studios as well as one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. 

There are 37 two-bedroom apartments available for households earning from $109,715 to  $187,330. The rent for these apartments is $3,200. Tenants are responsible for electricity, which includes the oven.

Applications must be submitted online or postmarked no later than July 13th.
