This two bedroom, 250 West 88th St., #806, on the Upper West Side, last changed hands in 1997 and is offered at $999,000. That's well below the current median asking price of $1,795,000 for similar-sized apartments in the neighborhood, according to RealtyHop.
The prewar condo is the only active sales listing in the building, which has 60 apartments and eight floors. The last similarly sized apartment sold in the building for $1,800,000 in 2018.
Why the apparent discount? It might come down to upgrades needed in the kitchen and bathrooms as well as an assessment on the building for the next 10 months, but the apartment benefits from having lots of windows, good-sized bedrooms and being a one minute walk from the subway.
The condo's amenities include a full-time doorman, a live-in super, shared laundry facilities, a bike room, and extra storage. The common charges are $1,472 per month and the additional monthly assessment is $735.97 until December 2020 for capital projects in the building.

We aren't given many pictures of the small galley kitchen. It's open to the living area but the lack of details suggests this is where the apartment needs upgrades. On the plus side, this is where you could customize the apartment and even enlarge the kitchen if you can get renovation plans past the board.
Closed curtains aren't always a good sign in a listing photo but the hallway is spacious and has a window.
The in-window air conditioning units aren't very attractive but the bedrooms, like the living area, have walls of windows.
