The apartment is on the top floor, providing views of the surrounding Forest HIlls Gardens.

Yes, this one bedroom, one bath in Forest Hills has a couple of issues, but it makes up for them with majestic windows providing two exposures, views, natural light, and space. Listed for $529,500, 20 Continental Ave., #6 is on the top floor of a six-story a 1932 prewar building.

The apartment measures over 1,000 square feet, and has a step-down living room, 10-and-a-half-foot ceilings, and original wrought iron railings. There’s also a wood-burning fireplace and oak floors.

The kitchen is admittedly small, and we’re not wild about the wall colors in that room or the hallway—but the latter issue is an easy fix and the kitchen does have a window.

The bedroom is an impressive size (removing the carpet is probably preferable); the apartment has multiple closets, and a dressing room next to the full bath.

The lobby sports as some old world grandeur, and the building has a live-in super. Maintenance isn’t cheap, but gas and electricity are included.

The location is close to many conveniences, including shops, restaurants, and entertainment on Austin Street, and the music venue Forest Hills Stadium. The LIRR is about a block away, and the E, F, M, and R trauns are a short walk at the Forest Hills-71st Avenue station.
