The view from Riverdale is pretty nice.

For space, a regal feel, and stellar views, this one-bedroom, one-bath co-op at 3935 Blackstone Ave. in Riverdale is worth a look. Listed at $275,000 with an ongoing capital assessment of $21.66, the 1,000-square-foot apartment overlooks the Hudson River and the Palisades beyond.

The postwar apartment is L-shaped, with hardwood floors, built-ins, dark wood accent moldings, and a kitchen that, while not equipped with the latest in appliances, offers lots of room and storage space. The bathroom has a walk-in shower with glass doors, and doesn't appear to have a tub.

The building has a 24-hour doorman, laundry, and a gym ($30 a month for one person, $50 for a couple, $70 for a family). Also, a circle drive with short-term parking spots for dropping off and picking up in front of the building. Storage bins can be rented for $25 a month, and indoor and outdoor parking is also available for a fee of $165 and $108 a month, respectively. The co-op is also pet-friendly.

For transit into the city, an express bus can get you to Midtown in an hour. By car, it's about a 30 minute drive via the nearby Henry Hudson Parkway. Other highlights in the area are the botanical garden at Wave Hill, and the highly rated high school Bronx Science.
