This Greenwich Village oasis may be small, but it comes with a spacious, private garden
Granted, most studio buyers don't generally have $1 million to drop on an apartment. But if you're willing to suspend some disbelief, this Greenwich Village co-op is something of a New York dream apartment. And given its recent $40,000 price chop—down to its current asking price of $995,000—at least it won't be subject to the dreaded mansion tax.
To make the most out of a small space, the apartment has been renovated to include lots of built-in shelving and storage, and the full wall of windows leading into the backyard add lots of extra natural light. There's a somewhat separate sleeping alcove with room for a Queen-sized Murphy bed, too:
As for the backyard itself, it's perfectly set up for entertaining, coming already landscaped and with a "heated outdoor dining area:"
The arched ceiling and unique tile work give the bathroom something of a Mediterranean feel, and the windowed kitchen looks nicely outfitted with new appliances (though you'll want to check in person whether there's room for a full-size fridge):
The building itself offers extra perks, including garage parking, storage, a roof deck, and flexible buying options that allow for guarantors, co-purchasing, parents buying for children, and pied-a-terres. Though can you imagine owning an apartment this lovely (and pricey) and living in it only part of the time?
