Today BrickUnderground kicks off The FSBO Diaries, a new series exploring the world of FSBO (For Sale By Owner, pronounced “fizbo”), New York City style.

Newlyweds Kathy and Rob, selling their studio apartment  in Manhattan without the help of a broker, will illuminate the seemingly dark art of FSBOing in New York City, as Kathy documents their adventures in weekly updates on BrickUnderground.

Among Kathy and Rob's first steps was creating a website for their apartment on a simple, clean blogging platform called Tumblr, and listing the studio on NYTimes.com ($130 for two weeks online), StreetEasy ($199 for four weeks) and Craigslist (free).

But what's next? We'll follow Kathy and Rob’s adventures as they navigate the ups and the downs, from the decision to sell bareback, to the first open house,  to closing the deal.

Today: Kathy and Rob get ready to launch their studio without a broker.
