Jersey City’s newest development, Soho Lofts, is a sleek brick and glass building in a popular area.

Soho Lofts

What city goer doesn’t dream of a spacious loft apartment in a new and amenitized building, all at an affordable price? It might seem impossible to find in Manhattan or Brooklyn, but Jersey City’s newest development, Soho Lofts, offers an appealing alternative.

The sleek brick and glass building holds 377 loft-like homes ranging from 622 to 3,397 square feet. It’s nestled within an emerging enclave of Jersey City called SoHo West—just south of Hoboken and west of New York City—in a popular area for young renters, families and empty nesters. The building’s now more than 75 percent spoken for. Its spacious units are perfect for residents eager to not only get in on the Jersey City boom, but also rent just in time for the summer opening of the building’s incredible outdoor pool and amenity club.

Spacious, lofty apartments with skyline views

Soho Lofts is a mix of one-, two-, three and four-bedroom apartments, with a limited number of private townhome rentals. Currently, spaces up for grabs include some of the largest layouts, including two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments. All outfitted with a den, the homes have great appeal to roommates and families with 1,283 to 2,023 glorious square feet and plenty of room to spread out. (For more details about layouts, click here.) Pricing begins at $4,050/month.

To go even bigger, there’s an available selection of three- and four-bedroom two-story townhomes between 2,403 to 2,914 square feet. These residences also feature an additional den. Pricing for townhomes begins at $6,995/month.

Soho Lofts also offers an inventory of one- and two-bedroom homes ideal for the single professional or young couples and families who wants a stronger sense of privacy. These residences are equally as spacious and inviting, priced from $2,795.

In each apartment, eight-foot red oak doors open into an airy, bright space, with ten-foot-tall ceilings and expansive windows (finished with sound insulated glass) that stream in natural light. Exposed spiral ductwork, plus white oak flooring, completes the lofty vibe. But this is loft living with perks: every bedroom comes with solar shades, and there are Whirlpool washers and dryers installed in each unit.

The expansive homes are replete with drool-worthy, spacious kitchens, finished with white Shaker-style cabinets with glass accent doors, offset by black Galaxy granite countertops. The space also boasts all stainless steel Frigidaire Gallery kitchen appliances.

Bathrooms are similarly luxurious, designed with glass enclosed showers topped with rain showerheads. The walls and floors are lined in a polished porcelain Carrera tile.

And of course, one of the best things about living outside New York City is the stunning views you get of it. Many Soho Loft apartments offer views of both New York City and Jersey City’s downtown skyline.

Expansive amenity package is opening now

Moving into Soho Lofts now means having first dibs on the building’s outdoor amenity suite, options catered to compliment renter’s social and urban lifestyles. This summer, renters will also have access to the Soho Summer House, the building’s resort-style roof deck amenity space beginning its inaugural season.

There isn’t a single summer activity missing on the expansive deck: swim in the infinity edge pool with aqua jets, lounge at the private poolside cabanas, barbeque at the gas grills, eat s’mores at the firepit seating area, invite your friends to the outdoor movie theater or event pavilion. That’s not even the full list of perks: there’s also an outdoor shower, children’s misting system, hammock area and Zen garden.

Inside, renters enjoy hotel-like amenities year round. Residents can visit a number of contemporary lounges and a seemingly endless list of perks. Retro arcade, billiards and shuffleboard? Check. There’s also a tech lounge, private conference rooms, children’s playroom and dog grooming suites. Hosting guests at the building is made easy with access to a fully-equipped demonstration kitchen, private party room, and surround sound media room with a massive projector screen. (They might not want to leave—if that’s the case, the building offers an overnight stay suite.)

Fitness buffs get a state-of- the-art fitness center with fitness on demand—think Zumba, Pilates and yoga—alongside weight equipment and treadmills. Finish off an intense workout at the adjacent ten-person sauna.

Finally, valet parking and 24-hour concierge is waiting for you in Soho House’s soaring two-story lobby. Yeah, it’ll be pretty easy to pretend you live in a five-star resort hotel this summer.

An emerging enclave of Jersey City

Soho Lofts is the latest building to come to Jersey City’s SoHo West community, a new neighborhood concept that’s brought upscale rentals, retails and services to the Jersey City and Hoboken border.

The building’s locale, 273 16th Street, provides easy access to New Jersey’s various urban centers. Within minutes, residents can get to Hoboken and downtown Jersey City. The building is also convenient to the New Jersey Turnpike extension, making for an easy commute into north and central New Jersey.

As for the Manhattan commute, the building provides a complimentary, daily shuttle service to nearby PATH stations and NY Waterway ferry terminals. It runs weekdays as early as 6am, and as late as 11 pm on the weekends. On Sundays, residents have on-demand service between 10 am and 6 pm.

There’s also plenty to explore in the surrounding Soho West neighborhood, which has rapidly transformed with incoming residential and commercial development. The new businesses opening in the area include 8 Springs Studio, a pilates and yoga studio; Viaquenti Academy, a bilingual preschool; Brewshot, a cafe, bar and restaurant; Cycle Mix, a spin cycle gym; and also the Art House, a nonprofit that includes a 99-seat black box theater.

There are new additions to come, as well, with a 5,000-square-foot Fresca community market slated to open this fall.

The Jersey City boom has been well documented; this is just the latest chapter. Ultimately it makes for a good time to call Soho Lofts, one of the premier buildings in the area, home. All that luxurious square footage to split with roommates, plus a jam-packed summer amenity package, will likely lure your friends away from New York, too.
