The rooms at 19 Dutch are intended to promote the Dutch tradition of Gezelligheid, or well-being and comfort.

19Dutch

A new building in the Financial District, 19 Dutch, has a name that recalls the neighborhood’s 18th history when it was first settled by the Dutch, who lay down its famously narrow, disjointed lanes.

But streets aside, like much of the Financial District today, this 770-foot-tall glass-clad building is as bright and shiny (and luxurious) as they come. And it's the only new construction rental development being introduced this year in the Financial District, according to Melanie Flaherty, vice president of marketing at Carmel Partners, the developer of the project.

The 483-unit building, which has a patterned glass façade designed by GKV Architects, recently began leasing. Apartment #25H, is a one bedroom available for $4,222 a month with no broker fee.

The interiors are by Colum McCartan and are intended to promote the Dutch tradition of Gezelligheid, or well-being and comfort.

Apartments have floor-to-ceiling windows, cerused oak flooring and white quartz countertops.

The lobby at 19 Dutch has a hotel-like look with tall columns and a tiled front desk with a Dutch theme. There are raised wood paneling, blue velvet curtains, brass details, and marble flooring.

The apartments are all wired for smart home devices, with keyless access and temperature control. The bath, while not shown, has custom vanities and ceramic tiling, according to the listing. The washer and dryer are by Bosch, although not shown either.

Amenities include a 24-hour attended lobby, a lounge and canteen and commissioned works of art on display throughout the building. There’s also a media center with private meeting rooms and communal work spaces, a demonstration kitchen, billiards room, library, and children’s playroom.

The building’s gym will offer boxing, cardio, TRX, weights, spinning, and yoga. When you're done with your workout, pick up a chilled towel to cool yourself off.

On the 64th floor is a communal lounge and terrace with views of the skyline.

The building is a block from the J and Z trains, two blocks in either direction from the 2 and 3 trains, and the 4 and 5 trains. Restaurants and shopping options in the neighborhood are plentiful, such as at the Westfield World Trade Center.
