If you’re searching for a new rental in New York City, your apartment wishlist might now include your very own washer/dryer, because of the coronavirus pandemic.

You may even be willing to pay a little more for this convenience to avoid sharing a common laundry room or using a laundromatYou’re more likely to find rentals with washer/dryers in new developments, where the rent is steeper, however, you can sometimes find them in older buildings. Either way, when you do find one, you may need to act fast—you're not the only one looking for a private washer/dryer. StreetEasy searches for the amenity were up 60 percent in May compared to last year, according to a recent report.
