The pandemic, however, has changed what New Yorkers are looking for in an apartment so if you're hunting for a rental, you should consider giving them a look.

That’s because ground-floor apartments can make it easier for you to get in and out of a building—and avoid other tenants—something to think about since avoiding infection will be a priority until there is a vaccine. With ground-floor units, you don’t have to depend on the elevator to get to your apartment, you’re closer to the lobby to accept deliveries, and being on the ground floor can offer access to outdoor space or more square footage than similar apartments.
