This week our readers were the most interested in stories about rules governing living in NYC's rental and co-operative apartments. Our top story looked at the likely precedent-setting Altman case, which could re-stabilize thousands of deregulated apartments in New York City. Our other most popular story about following the rules (or not following them, as the case may be) concerned a dog owners living in co-op with a new no-pet policy. Stories on what to do when your building lacks a superintendent, a housing lottery in Astoria and stunning studio in Harlem rounded out our best read stories of the week.

Here, in full, are the top five most popular stories of the last week:

1) Ask Sam: What's the latest news on the Altman case, and how might it affect my rent-stabilized status? (sponsored)

2) My big apartment building doesn't have its own super. Is this legal? What can I do?

3) Apply to rent an apartment in Astoria for as low as $947 a month

4) My co-op is changing its rules about pets. I'm a dog owner. What can I do?

5) There are high ceilings, a Murphy bed, and storage galore in this Harlem studio
