A note from Brick Underground: We've changed our coverage

You may have noticed Brick Underground has departed from our usual mix of stories. We’re still a New York City real estate news site, however, our focus now is on helping you navigate your real estate and housing issues during the coronavirus pandemic, of which NYC is the epicenter.

We’ve paused our many real estate listing columns and first-person accounts of life in NYC’s neighborhoods to focus fully on the topics you need to know about to get through these very challenging times—for example, what renters can do if your lease is up now, or your roommate was exposed to the coronavirus, or what kind of relief is available.

We’re covering the sales market too with stories on virtual closings, mortgage waivers, and how to pursue buying now. And we’re looking at how life has changed in our dense, vertical city, with posts on rethinking elevator etiquette and how buildings have shut down amenities, and are preparing for staff shortages.

Of course, stories (and updates) are coming at a daily, or even hourly pace, which means our tiny staff is tap dancing very quickly to keep up.
