Though New York's been blessed with a mild winter so far, January's typically promises brutal temps and slushy sidewalks. But in Miami, average highs in January and February hover around a perfect 74 degrees, with dry skies and lots of sun, ideal for enjoying the city's pristine beaches and mojito bars.

There are lots of lovely neighborhoods in Miami, but right now Downtown Miami is having a moment—according to The Miami Herald, the area has seen an unprecedented boom in new condo developments over the last few years, which has brought prices down, making the market more attractive to buyers. And while it used to be mostly office buildings, the neighborhood is now popular with young professionals and families in their 20s and 30s who are drawn to its cultural additions and walkability. Area highlights include Bayfront Park,  the Pérez Art Museum Miami, Miami's Freedom Tower, and popular eateries like Cipriani Downtown and Peruvian spot CVI.CHE 105. Downtown is also about 15-minute drive to popular spots like South Beach and Miami Beach.

If any of that sounds appealing to you, here's a taste of what's on the market.
