Cooperstown, New York is most known for being home to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, but it’s also a good place to move if you want to get a lot more outdoor space and privacy than you find with houses in a typical New York City suburb.

You will do well on price as well. The median sales price is $198,000, according to Realtor.com. Here you’ll find a variety of houses including colonials, cabins, and farmhouses. Many houses are set on a lot of land, or at least have large backyards.

If you’re not into baseball, there’s still a lot to do in Cooperstown. For culture, there’s Fenimore Art Museum, The Farmer’s Museum, and several art galleries. The town is also located on the southern end of Otsego Lake, with several waterfront parks like Lakefront Park and Glimmerglass State Park, where you can swim, bike, and camp. In downtown Cooperstown, you’ll find many local shops and restaurants along Main Street like Toscana, Cooperstown Diner, and Danny’s Main Street Market.
