The apartment is in a condo building that used to be a bakery.

Plenty of apartment listings claim to be lofts, but this one actually fits the bill. The one bedroom, one bath condo listed by Corcoran for $925,000 is in the Sophia Lofts at 234 North Ninth St. in Williamsburg, a former warehouse and bakery built in 1915. Inside, the industrial past is evident in the exposed beams and brick, and you'll find high ceilings and an open floor plan, as well as up-to-date appliances and fixtures. The L train shutdown is fast approaching, but you'll be within walking distance of the G at Metropolitan Avenue, which will improve matters ever so slightly come next April.

You enter via a long hallway, which the current occupant uses as a place to display art and knickknacks. In the living room, you'll find exposed brick as well as more space to create some striking gallery walls. There are also large windows that help brighten the room. In the open kitchen, the apartment's industrial vibe is complemented by new appliances and wood cabinetry.

One downside of some loft conversions is that bedrooms are typically carved out of open spaces and may lack windows, but this one is an exception. That said, it's definitely on the small side. The bathroom looks new, with artsy tile and a bathtub, though it's short on storage space.

There's a washer and dryer in the condo, as well as central air. Other perks include a common roof deck and additional storage space, and pets are permitted.

The building is three blocks from McCarren Park. If you feel like doing laundry in a more social setting, a block away is Muchmore's, where you can do a load while having a coffee or beer and listening to live music.
