There's no better way to illustrate how much a half-million budget can stretch—or not—than this weekend's schedule of open houses at the $500,000 price point. Here, a collection of apartments open for viewing throughout the city:

116 Covert Street, Apartment 2B. This 502-square-foot one-bedroom is in a new condo with a gym in Bushwick. Asking price: $425,000. Open house: Sunday, July 10, 1:30 pm to 3 pm.
