This bright Nomad studio has windows throughout, including in the kitchen and bathroom.

A 7-foot-wide walk-in closet and an attractive windowed kitchen with an island make this studio co-op at 66 Madison Ave. near Madison Square Park a practical choice. The apartment is listed for $500,000.

The living area is a little cramped as it's currently configured. The current occupant has an eating area with a couch and a coffee table, a desk, and a bed that juts out somewhat awkwardly into the middle of the room. The kitchen island appears directly behind the couch.

It might make more sense to put the bed against the wall so that there’s a little more room to maneuver. At the far end of the room is the walk-in closet, a big score in a tiny studio. Light wood flooring and white walls help make the space bright.

The kitchen is small, with a subway-tile backsplash track lighting overhead. The white cabinets appear to offer a decent amount of storage space (although there’d be more if they went all the way up to the ceiling). The wood-topped island is attractive and can be used as a prep space or, if you add a few barstools around it, even a breakfast bar.

The bathroom is neat, if also a bit plain with white walls and a white floor, a window, and a large vanity.

The apartment is in the Madison Parq, a full-service, prewar building that used to be a hotel. It has a 24-hour doorman, a live-in super, full-time porters, and laundry rooms on every floor.

The building is pet-friendly and allows allows pieds-à-terre and parents buying for children. Subletting is permitted after two years of ownership. It’s just one block from Madison Square Park. It’s also near the 28th Street station for the 6 , and the 23rd Street F and M stop, but both stations may soon close for extensive renovations that will last between six months and a year.

Maintenance is $1,043 a month.
