High ceilings and large windows bring lots of light into the living room.

Douglas Elliman

Many buyers find themselves drawn to Riverdale for its New York-meets-Westchester vibe. If you're on the fence about making the move northward, you might find this two bedroom, two bath condo persuasive: It's two blocks from an express bus, and not far from the vast green spaces of Van Cortlandt Park and Wave Hill. Not that you'll necessarily have to ride the bus with the hoi polloi: the building is advertised as offering a private shuttle to Manhattan.

The apartment, listed for $1.025 million by Douglas Elliman, looks bright, open, and airy, and the building has a tax abatement in place until 2023, bringing your monthly taxes to a mere $11.

A foyer  leads into the open-plan living and dining area, where multiple exposures let the light in (but also overlook the busy Henry Hudson Parkway). The large kitchen is impressive, with handsome cherry wood cabinetry, ample counter space, and high-end appliances.

The master bedroom has a walk-in closet and an en-suite bath with double sinks, a separate shower and tub, and heated floors. The second bedroom, configured here as an office, has its own sizable closet and full bathroom.

There's a washer and dryer in the apartment, and the building has doorman and concierge service, a gym, a children's playroom, and a roof deck.

If for some reason the shuttle and express bus don't work out for you, the building is close to a mile from the 238th Street 1 station and the Spuyten Duyvil Metro-North station. Also, it has a parking garage.
