New Long Island City condos are notoriously pricey, and this one, listed by Highline Residential for $1.579 million, is no exception. That said, it's a two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath penthouse duplex with high-end features such as a private rooftop deck with a custom-made pergola, and unusually, a private, heated garage. Built in 2007, the condo is close to Socrates Sculpture Park and the East River, as well as the new Astoria ferry stop. Note, though, that the closest subway, the N/W train at Broadway, is over a half-mile away.

On the lower level of the duplex, the open plan living and dining room features a gas fireplace with a marble mantle and a Juliet balcony. Multiple exposures keep the space bright, highlighting striking design features like black-and-white tile flooring beneath a custom staircase.

The kitchen is equipped with glossy cabinetry and brand-name appliances, and you'll find additional seating at the breakfast bar.

On the upper level, the corner master bedroom includes a walk-in closet and a private balcony; the second bedroom offers direct access to the roof deck. The bathroom arrangement here is eye-catching, with two distinct rooms, one with a more modern aesthetic and soaking tub, and the other featuring brown and beige tile, and an open shower. (An additional half bath is downstairs.)

The private roof deck is substantial, with room for outdoor entertaining beneath the redwood pergola. The listing notes that the furniture here is included. Furthermore, there's an in-unit washer and dryer, central air, and the aforementioned parking garage, and building amenities include virtual doorman and live-in super service. There's a tax abatement in place for five years, bringing monthly charges down to $1,039 a month.
