Lots of storage space makes this Hell's Kitchen studio a find

Large windows and four closets are the main draw of this $520,000 corner unit at 310 West 56th St. in Hell’s Kitchen.

At 450 square feet, it's not huge, and the windows face north, but nevertheless it has a lot going for it.

The entrance opens into a small foyer with two of the aforementioned closets, and the main sleeping/living area is to the left from there. The room is big and bright, and was staged with couch, a chair, and a coffee table, as well as a small two-seater dining table. Unless you're sleeping on a fold-out, this would likely need to be reconfigured, as there doesn't appear to be a bed.

The unit still has the original floor, an orangey wood that looks recently polished. That color won’t appeal to everybody, but it does look to be in good condition, and the shade can easily be remedied with a coat or two of stain.

The well-lit bathroom looks modern and fresh with a single glass panel door on the shower. The pinkish tiles won’t be to everyone’s taste, but they look relatively new, so there’s probably no reason to replace them just yet. There’s also a vanity with lots of space to stow extra tubes of toothpaste and bottles of shampoo, as well as a large mirror.

Turn right upon first entering the apartment, and you’ll hit the unit’s teeny-tiny kitchen. The room is small, but makes great use of what little space it does have, with wooden cabinets that extend all the way up to the ceiling for maximum storage. There are also full-sized appliances—not always a given in a small studio—including a stainless steel fridge, an oven, and a black microwave. Porcelain floors and an eye-catching tiled backsplash complete the room.

The apartment is in a mid-century co-op building built in 1964. It has storage, an updated laundry room, a live-in super, a 24-hour doorman, and a 24-hour super. The board is pet-friendly and permits guarantors, pieds-à-terre, and parents buying for their children. Maintenance is $882 a month.
