If you are in the market for a new apartment, because of the coronavirus pandemic, you probably have good ventilation on your wishlist.

The best type of ventilation system for condos and townhouses is arguably found in buildings with Passive House construction, which use energy recovery ventilators (ERVs) to create a steady flow of filtered air, with stale air carried out and fresh air pumped in, making them ideal for the Covid era. One architect called them “virus proof.”

Right now, there are a few condo buildings in the city with Passive House construction, including Brooklyn and Downtown Manhattan. Many of these condos have access to outdoor space like a private balcony, roof deck, or backyard, in-unit washer/dryers, and direct elevator access.

If an eco-friendly apartment sounds appealing to you, Brick has found these five condos with Passive House construction for sale in Park Slope, Crown Heights, Greenwood Heights, and the East Village.
