This two-family house in Bedford-Stuyvesant may be a good match for a buyer seeking a classic Brooklyn brownstone, and a place to indulge her green thumb. The house is located on a tree-lined, residential stretch of Macon Street that was a finalist for the Brooklyn Botanic Garden's "Greenest Block in Brooklyn" contest, and comes with a backyard that offers ample gardening opportunities.

Listed by Citi Habitats for $1.54 million, the townhouse has an owner's duplex with two bedrooms and one and a half baths, plus a potentially income-producing one-bedroom, one-bath unit on the top floor.

The house was built in 1899 and still has prewar features including crown moldings, and a decorative fireplace and parquet floors in the living room. Two large windows illuminate that room, which opens onto a separate dining room and then the kitchen, a definite highlight for its spaciousness and details like exposed brick (though you may want to update the flooring). There's an adjacent laundry room and direct access to the backyard from the ground floor.

There are two bedrooms, a half bath, and an office space on the second floor, though only the office is pictured in the listing. It looks like an appealing space to work, with its millwork and large windows. The floor plan show that the master bedroom comes with four smaller closets and one large walk-in.

On the top floor, the rental unit is a bit more modern, and includes a separate living and dining room, as well as a space off the bedroom that could be an office, additional storage, or a (teeny) guest room.

There's enough space in the yard for outdoor dining and yes, some garden beds. The yard also contains a koi pond, according to the listing. The description also says that the basement has an "open recreational area," but no word on whether that means it's finished.
