Sure, New York City is still feeling a little steamy at the moment, but before you know it, those leaves and flakes will fly. (Alert: the first official day of fall is today.) Whether it's old-school and wood-burning or sleek and gas-powered, a fireplace can add some warmth and wonder to your place during the cold months. Here are five apartments and houses with fireplaces that are having open houses this weekend.
400 E. 52nd St., #15C, Upper East Side: Located in an Emory Roth-designed prewar elevator building — on a cul-de-sac, no less—this 15th floor one-bedroom, one-bath co-op not only has a wood-burning fireplace, but also hardwood floors, and an oversized window in the living room.
