Townhouse pick of the week

Buy a brand-new Manhattan townhouse that just hit the market—but you'll have to wait to move in

Been dreaming about a stately, classic townhouse but still want all the so-called bells and whistles of a modern development? Then you might want to jump at this rare opportunity to buy a brand-new townhouse on the rise in Upper Manhattan.

203 Cabrini Boulevard is one of three connected townhouses being built in Hudson Heights, just north of the George Washington Bridge and south of Fort Tyron Park. It's the first of the three to hit the market (at an asking price $5.5 million through Nestseekers), and has five bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a landscaped roof deck with its own fire pit. Since the homes are still under construction, the photos are renderings (and we question if any Manhattan townhouse would be flooded with that much natural light), but they do make the place look fairly spectacular and spacious.

The home includes an elevator, custom hardwood floors, a backyard (not pictured), radiant heating, and smart home technology, and an imposing "17th-century-inspired" stone facade. The master suite has its own balcony and an attached bathroom with a soaking tub, "dual vanities," and the kitchen features marble countertops, a large island, and top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances.

The home also has direct views of the Hudson River, and reps tells us that construction is slated to be finished within the next 12 to 18 months, so you'll have to be a buyer who's not in a rush to move in right away.
