The Modern: Twice the luxury at half the price, less than 10 minutes from Manhattan by courtesy shuttle

For New Yorkers in the know, it’s no secret that if you head across the river into New Jersey, you can find luxury living at outerborough  prices—without the headaches of the outerborough commute.

Just on the other side of the George Washington Bridge in the heart of downtown Fort Lee you’ll find The Modern, a 47-story high-design, high-rise glass tower, home to 450 luxury rental residences in a mix of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts. With rents starting at $2,300 a month and the Manhattan subway less than 10 minutes away via a courtesy shuttle, The Modern has drawn residents from all corners of New York City.

Open Kitchen

Every apartment at The Modern features floor-to-ceiling windows, the better to take in High Line-worthy views of the Hudson River and New York City skyline. The interiors are decked out with oak hardwood floors, walk-in closets, washers and dryers, stone bathrooms, and open kitchens ideal for entertaining or a casual meal with family and friends.

Dining Room

The Modern is also outfitted with a mix of luxury amenities both indoors and out to help you make the most of your downtime, whether you’re a gym rat, film buff, or parent of a restless teen. The spacious, state-of-the-art fitness center includes a separate yoga and Pilates studio, and a spa featuring a community sauna and massage services, the better to unwind at the end of along day. Outside, there are volleyball and basketball courts as well as an infinity pool surrounded by chaise lounges, the better to get in your vitamin D in the warmer months. If you’d prefer to keep your workout virtual, the building features a golf simulator as well.

There are multiple lounges for residents to kick back including one with Wifi and printers at the ready (handy if you happen to work from home), as well as an underwater-themed "tween" room with a Nintendo Wii station that’s aptly named the “Aquapella Lounge.” An expansive rolling lawn area features outdoor movies during summer evenings; and individual and community barbecue stations that allow residents to enjoy a taste of outdoor cooking any time of the day. There’s also covered dog walking area and pet spa, as well as separate indoor and outdoor children's play areas, ensuring comfort for the community’s smallest residents and their caregivers.

You can also enjoy a uniquely tailored lifestyle program with daily events such as wine and beer tastings, professionally guided outdoor group cycling rides, “Yappy Hours” with licensed pet grooming services, and an artisanal food truck program featuring the area’s most popular restaurants and food vendors.

On par with The Modern’s other high-end conveniences, residents have access to an indoor parking garage—a rarity that makes for a comfortable driving experience in one of the most active metropolitan areas.

The Modern is located at 800 Park Avenue in Fort Lee. Renters interested in finding out more can visit www.rentthemodern.com and contact the leasing office at 201-461-2888 for an appointment. You can also follow The Modern on social media at www.Facebook.com/rentthemodern on Facebook, and @rentthemodern on Instagram and Twitter.
