Riverdale has long had a reputation as a haven for sprawling suburban-style mansions just outside the city, steeped in history and dripping with period details. Not so with this $2.675 million seven-bedroom home at West 261st Street which is newly built and larded with high-end perks, including rather imposing motorized steel front gates.

The bedrooms and common areas are big and bright, if a bit plain at the moment. (While the house is billed as "move-in ready," it's also mostly definitely a blank canvas for buyers with an eye to decorating.)

The perks that come with being a new construction are evident in its spacious, modern closets and bathrooms, and in particular, the giant, Nancy-Meyers-movie-worthy kitchen:

Combine that with a large, separate dining room, and it adds up to a fairly ideal space for anyone with a penchant for throwing dinner parties. The house offers luxury in spades, but convincing your friends to trek all the way up to the Bronx—that's on you.
