This Bed-Stuy duplex is a refined option for a crew of roommates

The obsession with Bed-Stuy's brownstones isn't just for townhouse buyers. Renters, too, can get in on the brownstone love, with listings like this freshly renovated four-bedroom duplex in a townhouse on Franklin Ave., near the Clinton Hill border.

At $4,500 a month, it's not anyone's idea of cheap (that shakes down to $1,125 a month per person if you split it with three others), but there are some luxe details throughout, like stone tiles and full-body shower heads in the bathroom, plus granite countertops and a dishwasher in the kitchen.

There aren't pictures of the individual bedrooms (though we like that mantle in the living room), and based on the floorplan below, it looks like the rooms vary pretty significantly in size, meaning some roommates might end up paying more than others in the interest of equity. (If you're a family, there's plenty of room to spread out, too.) One nice bonus: there's a large common space right off the kitchen, which could be put to use as a dining room or living room, depending on your preferences:
