A six-bedroom West Village townhouse with an eight-figure price tag

West Village townhouses almost always are pretty, but they can run the gamut of small to grand. This six-bedroom home is practically palatial, measuring over 9,200 square feet and a generous 28 feet wide; its interiors are appropriately sumptuous, too, with high ceilings, detailed moldings, and ebonized floors.

The living room is gifted with an entrance-making stairway and and not one but two fireplaces. The parlor floor also has two terraces.

The dining room is nearly 24 feet long—the better to accommodate a proper holiday dinner party—and has a servants' pantry right off it. The kitchen is equally massive, and has been modernized to meet the needs of a culinary expert.

The library isn't in name only—its walls are lined with built-in bookcases ready to be filled by an avid reader. (The room also has a fireplace, as proper libraries should; the master bedroom also has a hearth.)

The Anglo-Italianate house, which is listed with Sothebys International Realty for $23.75 million and has swanky perks like a home theater and a steam room, has been on the market for about a week, though it has been on the real estate carousel before. According to a 2011 Observer article, it was once a home to a Belgian developer who spent the better part of two years making the place over and put it on the market in early February of that year. It later sold for just under $17 million.
