Small Wonder

You can have a dog—and your own washer and dryer, too!—in this studio that feels more like a one-bedroom

From the looks of it, the sleeping alcove in this $2,000/month Crown Heights studio only fits a bed, but that's enough for us, since it means you actually have designated sleeping and living room spaces.

And even though there's no dishwasher, since the apartment is new, the appliances are too. We're loving the kitchenette's stainless refrigerator and stove, plus, there's a washer and dryer in the closet, which some may say is the property's most important perk—and the least likely you'll find in an apartment of this size.

The elevator building, which is pet-friendly, has a shared roof deck (see below), bike storage, a gym and extra storage for each apartment—major benefits when you're living in what's essentially one room.

The fact that the building is a new construction, and has the attendant amenities to boot, explains why it's about 10 percent more than the median price for a studio in the neighborhood.
