Take your bathroom to the next level with Tushy, the clip-on bidet

Isn't it time you made your bathroom a little more, er, international? While high-tech bidets have long been de rigueur in Europe and Asia, the trend hasn't exactly caught on here in the states and, more to the point, swapping out your toilet for a pricier model is a pretty expensive proposition. (And if you're a renter, an altogether implausible one.)

A new startup—aptly named Tushy—aims to change all that with its inexpensive (and easy to install) clip-on bidets, which can be attached to most standard U.S. toilets. For $54.00, there's a model that only sprays cool water and, for $74.00, one with options for warm or cool. “All over the world—in Europe, Asia, the Middle East—people use bidets. Using toilet paper to clean your butt is barbaric!," Tushy founder Miki Agrawal told Forbes this week.

Besides the cleanliness factor ( “When a bird poops on your face, you don’t wipe it off with a piece of paper. You wash it!" as Agrawal bluntly puts it), Tushy bills itself as good for the environment, drastically reducing the amount of toilet paper owners use each year. The company also says the installation process should take no more than 10 minutes.

So what do you think—worth a shot, and the inevitable, ahem, stream of questions you'll get from friends visiting your apartment?
