Half-baths that are fully impressive

Powder room, guest bath, half bath—since so many New Yorkers have only one bathroom, an additional sink or toilet is considered a true luxury (its presence implying the owner already has one, or more, full versions at his/her disposal). Here, a selection of high-end half-baths; what they lack in plumbing, they more than make up for in style.

This never-before-lived-in two-bedroom apartment at 35 West 15th Street, 11D (for rent at $15,000 a month) has 10-foot ceilings, open city views, two bedrooms, two full baths and this elegant marble and wood paneled powder room. It's the perfect place to touch up ones lipstick before heading out the door.

There are seven bathrooms in this duplex atop the legendary El Dorado at 300 Central Park West (for $29 million) but only one—this half bath—is on the lower floor, where it shares space with the kitchen, dining room, living room and den (not to mention three terraces and a solarium).

With five full baths, it’s not as if this five bedroom penthouse at 520 West 19th Street (yours for $19.995 million) is in need of an extra toilet or sink. But when you have a 20-foot dining room and an adjacent 27-foot living room, it’s pretty safe to assume you like to entertain, so a powder room is a lovely bonus.

For $35,000 a month, you get this three bedroom, three and a half bath condo at 50 UN Plaza (aka 345 East 46th Street, #17B) which includes in its 3,004 square feet of space 11-foot ceilings, stunning views, a chef's kitchen, private parking and this super-minimalist all-white powder room with a floating toilet and matching sink.
