No matter how many tricks you try—choosing low-profile furniture, painting the ceiling a contrasting or high-gloss shade, hanging curtains as high as possible—nothing makes a room feel more spacious than soaring ceilings. Check out these fab pads for inspiration.

If the 18-foot ceilings of this Tudor City penthouse (on the market for $7.2 million) didn’t have you at hello, its multiple terra cotta terraces, stunning views and star-studded past as a location for Woody Allen’s Bullets Over Broadway and Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather III are sure to catch your eye.

This 10,000-square-foot $60 million penthouse condop at The Mark has six bedrooms, eight-and-a-half baths, a sky-lit conservatory and this great room with 26-foot ceilings that would make a fine space for practicing trapeze arts.

Another fab loft, another set of double level factory-style windows. This Prospect Heights condo at 535 Dean Street (one sale for $2.099 million) has two bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths, a chef’s kitchen and private outdoor space, not to mention breathtaking 25-foot ceilings throughout.

Twenty-foot ceilings—and an entire wall of windows—make this $2.379 million one bedroom loft at 456 West 19th Street seem so much bigger than its relatively modest 1,129 square feet.
