Kathryn Bigelow opts for boutique building in Tribeca

WHO: Director Kathryn Bigelow has made a short film that campaigns against elephant poaching. We think that’s a great cause, but we’d also like to see a film that campaigns against potholes, because now that the snow has melted, we have rediscovered these buried gems all over New York City. And our ankles are not happy.
WHERE: The Academy-Award winning director of "The Hurt Locker" just paid $3 million for a two-bedroom condo in a four-apartment boutique building in TriBeCa, according to the New York Observer, where the median sales price is $5.995 million and the median rental price is $7,695.
WHAT'S AVAILABLE IN THE BUILDING: There's only one other apartment available — a three-bedroom maisonette that, at just under $6 million, is much more expensive than Bigelow's.
