How many times have you found yourself coveting a piece of stylish furniture only to find it doesn't actually fit into your apartment? Maybe it’s too wide to to squeeze into the planned space, or almost perfect except for the height. Or, simply too — orange?

Enter Parsonal by Arrister, a line of customizable Parsons-style furniture created by a trio of product designers and completely built on-demand. You choose a product from an online catalog (which will include coffee tables, end tables and dining tables, bookcases and desks, all based on a versatile Parsons prototype), customize its length, width, height, finish and more with a few clicks of your mouse, then onto checkout. The makers promise that each piece will be handcrafted in Nashville, TN using wood locally sourced from the Appalachian Timber Reserve.

Arrister has turned to Kickstarter to raise $36,000 for securing factory space, perfecting their furniture’s ready-to-assemble functionality and finish development of their product configurator—a tall order given how much they still need to accomplish, not to mention how few online samples there seem to be of their past work. But that doesn't mean it's not a great idea in theory.

You can support the company's dream with a pledge: $5 will get your name engraved on the company’s Kickstarter Backer Sign, set to hang in their new workshop; $50 will score you The Little Stand, that can be used as a monitor riser or desk accessory organizer; and $350 will get you a customized coffee table in your choice of length, width, height and finish. Assuming the project is funded, expect delivery of your Kickstarter perks sometime this September.
