Yes, it's true: many New York apartments come with a broker's fee of 12 to 15 percent of the annual rent. But apartment search site Naked Apartments has a variety of no-fee and low-fee options with fees that top out at 9 percent. We've rounded up current finds in all five boroughs and in a variety of price ranges and apartment sizes (from studios to a five-bedroom!). No-fee Lower East Side studio described as a "bachelor pad" with a small granite kitchen space, and built-in dresser and closet space in a four-story building with a live-in super. $2,500/month+one month free

No-fee Riverdale two-bedroom, one-bath that was recently renovated and features stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher, in a pet-friendly building with laundry facilities. $2,000/month

Eltingville, Staten Island one-bedroom  with three full rooms and about 600 square feet of space in a walk-up building with free off-street parking. $1,075/month+8.33% broker's fee.
