The StreetEasy Hot Dozen: 12 rentals that may or may not be available by the time you read this

The Upper West Side could be considered the more laid-back cousin of the Upper East Side with all of the pre-war and family-friendliness one could ever desire. This week's Hot Dozen -- the 12 rental apartments Streeteasy.com visitors clicked on most often over the past seven days -- features several reasonably-priced abodes there.

A junior one-bedroom apartment at 96th Street and Central Park West (pictured) is listed at $1,895/month. Located in a townouse steps from Central Park, the bedroom features a sleep loft that maximizes space, but may be a turn-off for those who don't want to climb up a ladder to get into bed.

Further south, a studio apartment at 340 Amsterdam Avenue and 76th Street is listed at $1,200/month. This tiny space comes fully furnished -- complete with a flat-screen TV. But there is one old-fashioned part about it: The tenant shares a bathroom with their neighbor.

A two-bedroom apartment at 126 West 75th Street and Columbus Avenue is listed at $2,100 and is now in contract. The apartment's second bedroom is lofted and could easily be converted into a home office.

If the apartment you like requires a guarantor that you don't have, see if the landlord accepts Insurent, a great solution from one of BrickUnderground's sponsors.
