No-Fee Rental of the Week: $2,900 furnished one-bedroom in Battery Park City

This $2,900 one-bedroom condo in Battery Park City comes furnished, which can be a plus or minus depending on your needs.

Pros: The furniture is modern and pretty generic (nothing offensive here). The building has an elevator, gym, live-in super, laundry in the building as well as a Virtual Doorman. Pets are allowed. Also, since it's a condo, the finishings and amenities are likely higher end than those in a rental.

Cons: As with any sublet situation, your living situation depends on the fact that the owner doesn't want to sell. If he or she does, you're out. The layout of the apartment is a bit generic (two boxes and little character), and while convenient to Financial District jobs and right on top of an awesome waterfront park for the warmer months, Battery Park lacks a big restaurant or nightlife scene, which may be a deterrent for singletons.

No-Fee Rental of the Week showcases an apartment that’s currently on the market and is being offered with no broker fee (otherwise known as the holy grail of New York City rentals).
