No one wants to pay a broker's fee on an apartment, which is probably why several no fee apartments are at the top of this week's Hot Dozen--the 12 rental apartments Streeteasy.com visitors clicked on most often over the past seven days.
A one-bedroom apartment at 98 Christopher Street and Bleecker Street is listed at $2,295/month. It's newly-renovated, has no broker's fee, and the West Village apartment is close to subway lines, parks and great restaurants.
Hop across town to a two-bedroom, one-bath no-fee rent-stabilized(!) apartment at 394 East 8th Street and Avenue D is listed at $2,862/month. The ground-floor Alphabet City apartment is a long trek from the closest subway stop, but is relatively large (810 square feet) and boasts its own private patio (an additional 300 square feet). Pets aren't welcome though, and your annual income must be between $128k-$193k, though guarantors are accepted.
In the Upper East Side nabe of Yorkville, a studio apartment at 335 East 81st Street and 2nd Avenue is listed at $1,750/month without a broker's fee. The apartment has its own separate kitchen, 10 foot ceilngs and nice hardwood floors. It's in a walk-up building, but the listing doesn't indicate which floor it's on.
