StreetEasy's Most Wanted: Wanna be a villager? A West Villager, that is

If you're a fan of the West Village (and really, who isn't?), pay special attention. This week's roundup of StreetEasy's Most Wanted -- the 10 sales listings StreetEasy users saved more often than any others -- features a couple of abodes in the Village for under a million (and one for well over!) for families and the solo apartment-hunter alike.

On a cobblestone block of Jane Street between Greenwich and Washington Streets is a $1.895m two-bedroom, two-bathroom penthouse condo. The duplex can be converted into a one-bedroom with home office if you don't have a need for the second bedroom. Of course, privacy is one thing no one can get enough of, though the private terrace might bring you a step closer. Concrete floors and a wood-burning fireplace round out this renovated space, along with a Virtual Doorman.

If a one-bedroom is all you need, consider a fully renovated $985k one-bedroom one-bath co-op in a converted stable on Downing Street. Located in a townhouse between Bedford and Varick Streets, this lofty move-in ready apartment features a custom kitchen equipped with top-notch appliances like a SubZero fridge, Miele dishwasher, and Wolf gas range, as well as a built-in stackable W/D unit and Caesarstone countertops. The bedroom has custom closets. Plus, there’s central a/c and a private balcony. Downside, particularly for a $985k one-bedroom: it's a third-floor walk-up.

Anyone flying solo may also be interested in a $349k studio, one-bath walk-up co-op on Perry Street between Greenwich and Hudson Streets. The new-to-market prewar unit has high ceilings and a decorative fireplace, as well as south-facing windows. Since it’s in the back of the building, it’s removed from street noise. Investors aren’t allowed, but the board allows pets, co-purchasing, pied-a-terres and subletting on a case-by-case basis. The second floor unit is one flight up.
