The StreetEasy Hot Dozen: 12 rentals that may or may not be available by the time you read this

Continuing last week's trend, and proving that rental high season is in full swing, New Yorkers went on another renting spree this week, snatching up 10 out of 12 of this week's Hot Dozen--the apartments Streeteasy.com visitors clicked on most often over the past seven days.

Among the two that are still up for grabs is the studio apartment at 160 West 71st Street and Broadway that's listed at $1,750/month. The apartment was recently renovated and boasts a new marble bathroom. Even better, the building has a 24-hour doorman, elevator, and live-in super. On the less-good side, only a one-year lease is being offered, which makes that broker's fee a bit harder to swallow.

The other is a two-bedroom apartment (or one bedroom, as the apartment's description has most recently changed to, and there does appear to be a sleep-loft involved) at 124 MacDougal Street and Minetta Lane listed at $2,565/month. The apartment has appeared on the Hot Dozen for weeks, if not months, and has been on the market since November, 2011, making one wonder what's wrong with the place.

For more of the most popular and, alas, already-rented listings of the week--from studios to three- bedrooms, elevator buildings to walkups--that are no longer available, check out the links below. If nothing else, they should give you a pretty good idea of what has been deemed rent-worthy at this moment..

If the apartment you like requires a guarantor that you don't have, see if the landlord accepts Insurent, a great solution from one of BrickUnderground's sponsors.
