This $2,400 studio at 189 Bridge Street in Downtown Brooklyn has a private balcony with views of Manhattan and the Manhattan Bridge.

The finishes are modern, and the building is chock full of amenities, but the neighborhood may be a bit remote for some.

Pros: The space is generous (for a studio), appliances (including a washer/dryer) are new, finishes are modern, there are hardwood floors, and there's a private balcony.

The building--which is pet-friendly--has a 24 hour doorman/concierge, a fitness center and common garden partio with grilling amenities.

Cons: The neighborhood is a bit desolate (though luxury buildings have popped up), and lacks the charm and character of other Brooklyn neighborhoods. Public transportation is far--in fact, the building offers a courtesy shuttle to the subway station.
