The StreetEasy Hot Dozen: 12 rentals that may or may not be available by the time you read this

A $135,000/month 3-bedroom made it into this week's Hot Dozen roundup of popular listings on real-estate site Streeteasy.com, proving that humans cannot resist the urge to look at super rich people's homes.

The photos are tiny, and therefore a bit disappointing, though if you do enough zooming, you'll get the idea: Grand halls, elegant ceilings. You'll have to rely on your mind's eye to imagine the kitchen and pantry that can be used to "prepare intimate dinners or an extravagant celebration for 50 guests." You might also like to imagine what you'd do with access to all the Waldorf Astoria hotel amenities all the time—the apartment's in the Waldorf Towers. Think "Home Alone."

For the 99 percent, there's a nice selection of reasonably-priced apartments, even an $800/month studio on the Lower East Side available to anyone who meets income requirements and commits to buy (for $180,000) at the end of the first year's lease. Peek at the other ten to see what else is out there. And if you need a savvy agent to help, consider our very own BrickUnderground Agent Referral Service, standing by.
