This week's Hot Dozen -- the roundup of most popular rentals from real-estate site Streeteasy.com -- features apartments across a wider price range than usual. Rents start at $556/month for a 1-bedroom in Morningside Heights, and climb all the way up to $7,000/month for a 3-bedroom in the Village.
The 1-bedroom, being low-income housing, comes with a strict set of requirements and restrictions: No students, roommates, couples without kids, or individuals making more than $23,160 qualify. And while the Greenwich Village pad doesn't mention anything about income checks, one could assume that with an asking price of $7,000 a month, the landlord will make some effort to ensure that tenants are financially capable of making rent.
For everyone else, there are ten other places that fall reasonably between the two and plenty more on Streeteasy.com.
