NYC Real(i)ty Speak: New Yorkers are funny that way

When you live in New York City, isn't it funny that...

...you will fight the city to the death about keeping your building in the P.S. 6 school zone but send all three of your children to private school in Riverdale.

...you will take a day off work to go to a sample sale in a warehouse in the furthest reaches of the garment district but you won't go to a nail salon more than two blocks away.

...seamlessweb.com and your doorman know you are getting your period before you do just by your food delivery patterns.

...you are smug about your short commute among suburbanite colleagues and never admit the hours you spend each year waiting for an elevator or inside a stalled subway car or behind a gas truck/garbage truck/moving truck/etc.

...you barely notice when Uma is sledding on Cedar Hill next to you and your kids but you will pay top dollar to see her in a Broadway show.
