BrickPicks: Brooklyn Heights 2-bed co-op with views to die for

While this writer does not value outdoor space very highly, she is well aware that for many it is a desirable (or perhaps essential) feature. But even someone with a ho-hum attitude toward balconies and terraces will be impressed with the views and outdoor access of this two-bedroom, two-bath co-op at 70 Remsen Street. According the listing on StreetEasy.com, this classic landmarked co-op building is one of only three in prime Brooklyn Heights offering comparable views. And the views here are stunning, sweeping east, west and south from two 32' by 17' wrap-around terraces.

Less spectacular is that the apartment, first listed 39 days ago for $1.095 million, is a combination with a resulting relatively high maintenance of $2,237. The kitchen is small but has granite countertops and cherry cabinetry. Both bedrooms are spacious, with en-suite bathrooms. A real bonus is the working wood-burning fireplace in the living room. The full-service, pet-friendly building is located only one block from the Brooklyn Heights Promenade.

BrickPicks is A. Ready's weekly independent selection of an apartment that she believes reflects good value given current market conditions. It is not an advertisement for the property, nor is it paid for by the brokerage mentioned.
