"There were so many bedbugs in my wall socket that when the exterminator fired his mystery poisons through the slats, dribbles of blood started pouring out," writes a Gawker commenter beneath a post-Waldorf-Astoria list of notable places invaded by bed bugs in NYC. "The blood stains on the socket are still there like an industrial music album cover, the bedbugs are gone (after a six month battle.) Staring at the blood I asked the exterminator if life was getting darker or I was getting older. He said, 'Life is getting darker.'"
