Continuing a rush of new affordable housing options that have opened up in the New Year, applications have just opened for 24 affordable new rentals at 1040 Dean Street, a new building in Crown Heights.

Per the listing on NYC Housing Connect, the apartments are a mix of studios, one-bedrooms, and two-bedrooms ranging from $845 to $1,022/month, for applicants with annual household incomes between $30,858 and $54,360, depending on apartment and family size. You can see the full list of options and requirements below:

The process is being managed by the St. Nick's Alliance, an affordable housing organization, and preference for half of the apartments will be given to current neighborhood residents, in this case meaning applicants who reside in Brooklyn's Community Board 8.

The building appears to be new construction, and the listing notes amenities including bike storage and, for extra fees, a fitness center, rooftop terrace, storage, and some parking.

If you're interested and think you qualify, you can brush up on our guide to the application process here, and submit your application online via NYC Housing Connect, or request an application by mailing a self-addressed envelope to 260 Power Street, c/o 1040 Dean Street, Brooklyn NY 11211. (Be sure not to send in more than one application, or else you risk being disqualified.)

Applications are due by March 13th.
